Recruits Visiting Tuscaloosa This Weekend

According to various sources, there will be no less than three basketball recruits in Tuscaloosa for a visit this weekend.

Jaren Sina, a 6'2, 175 lb PG from New Jersey arrived in Birmingham today for a visit tomorrow. Ricky Tarrant, the 6'2, 190 lb PG who is transferring from Tulane will also be in Tuscaloosa for a visit. And finally, Algie Key, a 6'4, 180 lb SG from Barton County Community College will reportedly be in Tuscaloosa as well this weekend for a visit. Key is considered one of the best JC guards in the country after averaging 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. He was also a two-time JC All-American his two years at Barton. It could be a very interesting weekend for Coach Grant and his staff.

One more thing to note. Florida International is currently searching for a new head coach after Richard Pitino was hired at Minnesota. One name that has been mentioned as a possible candidate is Alabama's own, Tony Pujols. Something to keep an eye on as we head into Spring.

UPDATE:  If tweets from Releford and Lacey are any indication, it appears that Tulane transfer Ricky Tarrant is the newest member of the Alabama basketball team. He will have to sit out the 2013-14 season per NCAA rules.

@AdamZagoria: Freddie Hill could replace Chris Pompey at #shbb...which could have implications for Jaren Sina, who is visiting Alabama.

Possibly. Hill recruited Sina to Northwestern. Shrewd move, Kevin Willard.

Tarrants jersey on Releford post, look different than the Alabama jerseys the past 4 years, look kind of like the old ones. I liked those much better, don't understand why we switched. As for the signee, kudos to Grant and staff for pulling through here. PG seems like the only position CAG can develop, but he has had some good ones. Maynor, Releford, etc....

I'm very happy with Tarrant, but in my opinion, that means Sina goes elsewhere.
