Schedule News: Alabama/Xavier on December 21st

I know it's hard to get jazzed up about the schedule after the news concerning Devonta Pollard today, but Xavier will play in Tuscaloosa on December 21st. Not sure yet if it's a home-and-home series, but I assume it is. It's yet another strong addition to Alabama's non-conference schedule for next season. However, with two players transferring out and now the Pollard mess, it's a fair question to wonder who will be left on the Alabama roster to actually play these games?

Why don't we schedule the Miami Heat while were at it? It's not like we have 9 scholarship players or everything..........

Not a bad idea. Half of the lazy Alabama fanbase might fill Coleman for that one.

"The lazy Alabama fanbase might fill Coleman halfway for that one" 27th in the country in 2012, sold out 15 straight conference games form January 2011- February 2012, complain about something else.

Yes, but when Alabama wasn't winning as many games as they were supposed to this past year, the fans stayed home instead of supporting the team. I respect fans who support their team, regardless of whether or not the team met their expectations. DJC is a great fan because Alabama could have gone winless last year and he would still be there. Can you say the same?

Yep, I was there, I will always be, but some fans feel that the best way to demonstrate there frustrations with a poor product is not showing up. It usually works, and I won't bash them for it.

I would like to say even though those games were said to be sold out half of the tide pride seats were empty for most of them. There's only a handful of games I can remember in recent years that were actually full.

Excellent scheduling this coming year , but unfortunately we may not have enough players to field a team.

The tide pride people in the front don't care, which makes it seem like a bad crowd, but there are a lot of knowledgable 'Bama basketball fans througout the building.

Yeah I didn't say anything about the crowd being dumb to basketball. I was just saying the only reason all those games you mentioned were sold out is because of the goons that buy the seats just to get tide pride points

Same amount of players as they had at the end of last season. The problem will be if a player(s) are out for any significant time with injury. Then depth becomes a real factor. If the team can just stay healthy, they should be able to field a competitive squad. However, with each player lost, that goal of returning to the NCAA tournament becomes more and more difficult. One good thing is that the entire team, sans Pollard, is on campus and working out together.

Alabama has not won as many games as they were suppose to in about 7 years now.

A solid addition to the schedule, but I'm not sure I'm crazy about the home and home, as I still have nightmares from my last trip to Cincy to watch a CMG team lose by 20+. The Cintas center is a great venue, though.

On the bright side: the team will score some RPI points for playing there, and the 2014-15 Bama roster could be stout if Coach can find a way to halt the roster turnover.
