Nick Jacobs, Processed

Well, maybe not, but he will take an "indefinite leave of absence" according to Coach Grant.  I can't say that I'm shocked by this.  I sort of had him in mind as a possible attrition candidate during the off season.  We will miss the good Nick Jacobs that shows up once every 4 or 5 games, but not so much the slow and seemingly disinterested one we get the rest of the time.

A great opportunity now for Jimmie Taylor to step up.

Not exactly what Grant needs right now either, what with all the scrutiny the program is under. The release makes it sound like something academic. I hope Nick figures it out. Man, this has been a terrible season.

Attrition already? It's not even the offseason yet. If Grant comes back you can guarantee two or three more transfers. And next year we will have no big men, once again. Here we go again. Or do we?

"processed"??? i hope that was sarcasm, dj. because to use a word linked to Coach Saban's system to grant is indeed blasphemy.

I actually think the team will be better off without him. The problem will be keeping Engstrom and Taylor out of foul trouble. So I would expect to see a lot of zone defense. Also, Dakota Slaughter could will see more PT. Is Michael Kessens able to play? If so get him in there. Either that or go to 4 guards.... open up and run. I said that after the Missouri game.

Kessens is sitting out his transfer year.
