Hey guys. Glad to find this great site! I am a hard core Alabama basketball fan have been since I was 15 years old when I discovered how good bama hoops were. When were still getting into sweet sixteens under wimp...if only we had pulled it out against layola in 89 we would have won a championship. That team may be the most talented team in program history. Even though mark made the elite 8 with his...what a year to be a bama basketball fan that was. Love the site and will definitely be looking for more very well done articles.

I think the key word for this years team is fast break speed. Alabama should be much more athletic based on an acquaintance of mine. The emphasis as I am told for cag is speed..speed..and more speed. Cag has made comments that the defense with the recent coaching addition is showing drastic improvement and would be an absolute strength for this team. He is counting on fast break opportunities off the defense. One problem reported was that our outside shooting could still be a problem this year. One exciting development for this year could be a more aggressive offense. Cag reportedly has made some changes to the offense due to fact that he feels that pressure teams with the athleticism of this team. I am hearing that this team could really be the surprise team in the league.

I'm a little disappointed to hear that outside shooting is still a concern. I was really expecting that to be a strength this year with Norris, Coleman, Mitchell, and Varidel all coming in. The "use defense to create offense" philosophy doesn't sound much different than what we've done in the past. Problem is when we don't get a turnover, our offense goes stagnant with no real scoring threats in the post.
