Revenge Meat- @ Vanderbilt 4PM EST (3PM CST) FSN

17-11 (7-8) visits 16-12 (6-9) in a NIT implication matchup. We NEED to win today to maintain the all-time series edge as it is 67-66 our way right now. We also need to win today if we want to have a chance at finishing .500 in the conference.

Vanderbilt has won 3 of their last 4... including the embarrassing road win at Coleman 2 weeks ago.

As Mitchell posted below, we're probably going into Nashville short handed. We all figured Tarrant was done for the year, Hale is probably done as well, and Kessens is iffy for tonight (think he's a no go as well) so we'll run a starting lineup of Coop, Levi, Norris, Obasohan, and Taylor with Coleman hopefully getting a lot of minutes. I suspect Mitchell sees the court a bit as well.

We play much better on the road than at home so I think we have a real shot here IF we shoot 40% from beyond the arc. Otherwise, with a thin lineup and our already AUful interior defense Vanderbilt could destroy us.

Note- we haven't won 2 in a row since the 2-0 conference start in early January. Food for thought.

Another well coached road meltdown by Anthony Grant. I thought it was a great idea to slow the pace down. We scored way too many points in the second half. We got back to Anthony Grant basketball in the second half. Not to mention playing zone against a team that couldn't miss from three. We pay top 25 money for great coaching like that. Oh well I'm sure it was the injuries or some other bullshit excuse we will get to read about in next weeks Battle Plan.

The Vanderbilt fans had a lot to do with winning that game today. Down 13-14 points they were screaming their tails off, urging their team to come back. Alabama fans down 14 would be ready to leave building and bitch and moan. Big difference!!

We outrebounded Vandy 37-29. That will probably be a BULLETPOINT on the next Battle Plan.
We pucker up when a team makes a run... and we have a HC that still hasn't figured out when to use timeouts.
Whether there is a coaching change or not, we are probably 3 years away from making a NCAAT. Think about that for a minute.

I don't know about that. We'd probably be in the NCAAT this year if it weren't for a few close games that were decided partially by our poor coaching. I think a good coach could get us into the NCAAT by year 2 and could even have us on the bubble next year.

Typical Grant Jock-sniffer. "It's the fans fault." "You're not a real fan unless you sit their and watch the paint drying style of play we play with a big smile" Get out of here, man.

Why? Because I don't listen to all your horseshlt. Your get out of here and find a team you can support. Fyi I don't need you to tell me what to think. Your full o f crap if you do n t think t h e Vandy fans d I d n t help. Go back and listen.

You think Vandy fills up their arena when they suck? You think that arena was anywhere near full today? Just because I have objectivity doesn't mean I don't support my team.

needtoknow said...

Yes the arena looked full and they suck now.You sure you saw the game? Vandys record is the same as ours but their fans are 10 X more vocal. It is a different type of culture and a culture we need.

CTider said...

A culture change has to start from the top. The AD and Grant have made zero effort to change the culture.

I don't want to get into this argument because frankly I don't care at this point, but a culture change in basketball or in a society always starts from the ground up. If you keep expecting change to come from the top, you will be forever disappointed.
