Recruiting News; Game Times Announced; Dogs and Cats Living Together!

A few things to report today. Let's start with game times. The university has announced tip times for three games.

The season opener against Memphis in Annapolis, Maryland as part of the Veterans Classic will tip at 5:30 P.M. CT. The game will be televised on the CBS Sports Network. That is on Friday, November 10.

The home game vs UCF on Sunday, December 3 will be a 1 P.M. CT tip. ESPNU will televise, but that's a great game on a Sunday afternoon for fans to bring their families, friends, special lady friends, sugar daddies, hell bring an enemy or two if you like. A quality opponent, an easy tip time. No reason Coleman shouldn't be packed for that game.

Finally, the Vulcan Classic match-up vs Texas in Birmingham on Friday December 22 will tip at 8 P.M. CT. ESPN2 will handle the television duties, but this should also be a manageable game for people to make. 8 P.M. on a Friday night. If you live in or relatively close to Birmingham, you won't even have to take the day off to make that 8 P.M. tip. A great opportunity for fans to see a name brand opponent, and the court will be littered with great athletes for both teams. That should be a very fun game.

Moving on, there are a few recruiting notes from the past week. Kira Lewis, a 4-star guard in the class of 2019, took an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa last weekend. Lewis is from Hazel Green, Alabama, and is currently the 2nd ranked player in the state behind fellow Bama target, Trendon Watford. Lewis is 6'3, 155 lbs, and would best be described as a combo guard.

Javian Fleming, a 3-star center in the class of 2018, released the list of schools that he will officially visit via his Twitter account. Alabama was part of that group, along with Texas A&M, Georgetown, TCU and Iowa State. He will visit Alabama September 29-31. That's the weekend of the Ole Miss football game. I've long believed that Alabama is the favorite for Javian, but that's a solid group of schools that Alabama is recruiting against. For what it's worth, he tweeted this weekend that he and his family were attending the Alabama/FSU football game in Atlanta.

Here are all of the official visits that I'm aware of so far:

Jared Butler - The weekend of September 8-10. I'm basing this on comments made by Butler in a Rivals article, in which he mentioned he was visiting Alabama the weekend following an official visit to Virginia, which he did this past weekend.  This weekend will be the home football opener at Bryant-Denny vs Fresno State so that makes sense.

Javian Fleming - September 29-31

Diante Wood - October 13-15

Expect to hear more visits announced throughout football season. Alabama is still heavily recruiting several players in the 2018 class, including top 50 prospects Robert Woodard and Khavon Moore. I really hope Avery can get those two guys on campus. Moore has already made an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa during the summer.

We're now 10 weeks from the start of the 17-18 season.

Last, but certainly not least, dogs and cats living together.
