Bad news for the basketball team

Demetrius Jemison is done for the year. Wasn't told what happenned, but it was some sort of injury. I don't know if this is true or not... just passing along info.

If true, this is a huge blow to our team. We're short enough on big men as it is.

Edit (9:12PM)- a link from speculating on it.

Demetrius ruptured an Achilles tendon.

At this rate, Andrew Steele will be the starting power forward for Bama. Man, terrible news. Looks like Bama will be playing small ball quite a bit this season.

Once, just once, I would like Alabama to have an offseason without some kind of drama, be it an injury or someone leaving the program, not making the grades, etc.

We had a quiet offseason until this so maybe we're turning the corner. You're right... get ready for some 4 guard lineups out there.

Yes, it was relatively quiet. Nevertheless, there was Coleman's decision to go to Troy and Kemp being ruled ineligible.

I hate this for Demetrius. It was the opinion of many that he, like Torrance, had received a raw deal in regards to playing time the last couple of years. With the lack of depth in the paint he would have had quite a bit of playing time this season.

A month ago I felt Alabama could be a dark horse NCAA Tourney team. At the worst, I felt they could get to the NIT. Now, I'm not so sure how this season is going to go. Alabama has only two frontcourt players, both of whom had a propensity for getting into foul trouble a year ago. The lack of back-ups is going to put them in a tough position on the defensive end, particularly JaMychal who will be counted on to stay out of foul trouble in order to provide the team with a dynamic inside scoring option. It could turn out to be a tougher season than I originally anticipated.

This is CAG's first mistake at Bama. He had plently of time to fill atleast one of those schollies (maybe both). Now we are down to only 10 scholly players now :(

You're right. Let's fire him!

Maybe I'm wrong, but he didn't contribute much when he DID receive playing time last year. He avg 3.1 ppg on 14 mpg, so not exactly a big offensive producer. He was 5th higher re-bounder though.
